Before founding Lanman Rayne in 2011, Kate worked as a tax accountant at another local firm, assisting clients with tax planning and tax return preparation. At Lanman Rayne, Kate uses her tax knowledge, as well as her experience growing her own business, to advise business clients on matters ranging from business formation and corporate counsel to estate and succession planning. In all aspects of her work, Kate is dedicated to working with her clients to find the creative solutions that best fit their needs.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from McGill University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law. She lives in Scarborough with her husband, Jason.
Jason joined his wife, Kate, at Lanman Rayne in 2014. During his early twenties, Jason dealt first-hand with the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and their small businesses while pursuing a career in music. His work at Lanman Rayne is driven by the same passion that drove his music. He has almost 5 years of experience advising clients on the tax aspects of business transactions and general tax compliance. At Lanman Rayne, he focuses on business formations, business transactions, and estate planning, all with an eye toward the tax implications.
